About Us

The way of S.S. Basavanal Institute’s Progress

In pre independence period Marathi language was dominate in the north Karnataka especially in Belgaum District. There was a shortage of trained teachers in Kannada schools and trainers in Kannada Training Institutes. In this way when there was no possibility of Kannada environment Shri B.S. Hanchinal dared to open Kannada teachers training Institute in Belgaum. He had a far sight that the development of Kannada language was possible when a team of Kannada teachers were trained. So Shri. Hanchinal Teachers expressed his intention before the managing committee of those days in 1939 A.D.

Establishment

The first Teachers Training Institute was started on 12-6-1940 A.D. with the kind permission of The Public Education Officer. The Institute was named K.P.T. College that time.

Inauguration

Sir Mirja Ismail the Divan of Mysore Province inaugurated this Institute. Honorable Shri B.S. Hanchinal teacher was the first Principal of the Institute.

Events

Teachers Should Endeavour for deep knowledge.

Smt Sadana Pote the Director of Divisional Employment Exchange Belgaum, advised the students on 27th October 2010 in the capacity of the chief Guest that the Primary School Teachers are molders of the India’s future. So they should teach students earnestly and honestly and bestow them deep knowledge and encourage them to develop it they should study constantly for that purpose and go to the classes with preparation. Smt Ratnaprabha V. Bellad the chairman of college committee inaugurated the function and advised the trainees to choose the honorable and sacred job and maintain its piety. They should read very faithfully and acquire knowledge to impart it to the students. Principal I.B. Angadi had presided over the function. He advised the trainees to do good job and enlightened the students.

Kumar Manjunath and his friends prayed god in the beginning. Shri M.G. Patted welcomed, Shri S.M. Patil introduced the dignitaries, Shri S.A. Nirwani did vote of thanks and Shri R.K. Nerli conducted the programme. All the trainees and the staff were present in the function.
